Mozambique unnerved as they take Game One of the Women's AfroBasket Qualifiers

Abel Xavier, Mozambique’s new national football coach, embarked on a round of club visits this week, focusing on those playing in the ‘Moçambola’ national championship.
Xavier, who was born in Nampula, will find out how the clubs work and discuss some of the ideas he has for national selection and Mozambican football in general.
Xavier visited Liga Desportiva de Maputo, Maxaquene, Costa do Sol, Ferroviário de Maputo and Desportivo, among others. He spoke to officials, coaches, players and agents, feeling the pulse and listening ideas and concerns in a dialogue aimed at boosting national commitment.
Xavier signed a contract with the Mambas on January 24. His main task is to try to make sure Mozambique qualifies for CAN 2017 in Gabon, a difficult challenge after losing to Rwanda and Mauritius in the first two rounds.
