The Mimi Niko Kazi Graduation Ceremony marked the ending of the vocational internship for 27 young men and 27 young women and also the beginning of their new lives enriched with new perspectives, plans and choices. Now being equipped with additional skills and experience, they have got tools to improve their own work careers and aspire others around them. The ceremony took place on Monday, 15th November, at The Southern Sun Hotel in Maputo City.
The Mimi Niko Kazi internship programme is run by Mozparks and its latest phase was funded by Employment 4 Development, The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). The local business companies such as TotalEnergies, Coca Cola Sabco, Capital Star Steel, Outotec LDA, Bosch Rexroth, Enserve and many others provided placements and professional trainings to the interns. Currently Mozparks is cooperating with 94 Mozambican Enterprises that support this project.
The Graduates of the Mimi Niko Kazi, completed their 6 month internship which enhanced their skills for employment and helped some of them to secure jobs already.
Since its start this Youth Employability Programme has reached 8 Provinces in Mozambique, mainly Cabo Delgado and Nampula.
MozParks is launching the new stage of the Programme which will be sponsored by the The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and will be specifically focused on improving the employability skills for the youth in the Northern Provinces. This funding will allow another 150 young Mozambicans to improve their career growth and chances for employment.
