Only 50 embargoed Costa do Sol works so far proved legal, says Maputo Council

After Maputo Municipality embargoed works in Maputo’s Costa do Sol neighbourhood and gave owners 48 hours to prove the legality of the construction and occupation of the land, only 50 of the 125 works embargoed have proved legal.

“Those who came to present documentation will be released from the embargo. As for the rest, we will study another measure on Tuesday at the meeting with the technical team,” said Ka Mavota Municipal District Councillor Despedida Bento, quoted by O País.

The disputed constructions are all on land that previously belonged to the Maguiguane Association of Agricultural Producers.
