Mozambique: Terrorist attacks force closure of 21 schools - AIM report
Twenty-six people were injured, five of them seriously, following an accident on National Road 1 near the Police Academy of Sciences (ACIPOL) in Maputo province.
The accident involved two vehicles transporting passengers, a mini-bus and an open van [Chapa and My Love].
According to the police spokesman, Fernando Manhiça, the speeding of the mini-bus, which was on the Maputo-Marracuene route, caused the accident. The ‘Chapa’, crashed against an open van, commonly known as ‘My Love’, carrying people from the Mali neighbourhood, also known as Santa Isabel neighbourhood, to the city of Maputo. At the moment of the crash, the ‘My Love’ was immobilised on the road, according to the Notícias report.
Manhiça added that the wounded had been evacuated to the General Hospital José Macamo for medical care. Some have already been discharged.
