18-year-old ‘Mozambican Neymar’ signs with Sporting: 45 million euro release clause

After a month of training in Alcochete, Portugal, Amancio Canhembe, best known as the Mozambican Neymar, has signed a contract with Sporting. Although slated to join the junior team, he may also occasionally play for the B Team, with whom he has been training.

The 18-year-old forward arrived in Portugal in late December. He had in Lisbon been on loan by Liga Desportiva de Maputo, and the Portuguese club has secured an option to sign him for five years at the end of this season, leaving the young man with a 45 million Euro release clause.

Canhembe, known for his speed and daring in attack, has played for the Liga Desportiva de Maputo senior team since he was 17.
