13 Swazis involved in Maputo accident: “In Mozambique the kombis are always over loaded”

At least 13 Swazis were involved in a horror kombi crash in Namaacha, Mozambique, on Friday that left the driver dead.

The accident occurred about 10km away from the Lomahasha border Post in Namaacha, Mozambique, during the morning hours.

The driver, a 52-year-old Mozambican man, was tragically killed during the accident.

According to Paul Manyisa (34) from Mbabane who survived the accident with only minor back injuries said: “The circumstances that led to the accident are still unclear, but all I heard was the rear wheel exploding, the next thing the kombi overturned three times and eventually resting on its roof.”

“In Mozambique the kombis are always over loaded and we have no choice but to sit in groups of four in all rows of seats,” continued Manyisa.
