An accident this Thursday morning on Josina Machel avenue in Maputo caused at least 11 serious and mild injuries.
The craash occurred in the Alto Maé neighbourhood at around 11:30 am when a passenger minibus crashed into a tree.
The minibus, traveling from Machava Socimol to Museu, lost effective braking, and the driver, trying to get the vehicle off the road, hit a tree on Avenida Josina Machel behind the Assembly of the Republic.
The minibus was crowded with passengers, and the injured were ferried to hospital in police and Television of Mozambique vehicles.
