Approximately 107 Mozambicans were deported by the South African authorities between 12 and 22 November, for illegally entering and residing in the country.
According to information provided by the spokesperson for the National Migration Service (Serviço Nacional de Migração, SENAMI), Cira Fernandes, those deported from South Africa originated from provinces of Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane, Manica and Sofala. Fernandes also advised that, with the approach of the festive season, SENAMI urges all Mozambicans to “confirm the expiration date of their passport and country of destination entry visas” before travelling.
