Mozambique’s 100 Best SME Awards once again saw record participation, with a total of 622 companies registered in the event.
Under the motto “Strengthening the Value Chain of National Content”, record participation in the sixth event of the series once again demonstrated the vitality of Mozambican entrepreneurs and their ambition to become a true engine of the country’s economic growth.
Winners of the 2017 competition were announced at the Awards Gala ceremony.
The BCI Best SME of the Year 2017 prize was won by INCALA Plastics and Footwear, the SME 2017 Innovation by Xava Lda and the SME 2017 Inclusion award by Bindzu Agrobusiness Consultancy, Lda.
The 6th edition distinguished the best SMEs in ten other categories:
The Mozambique SME Top 100 Award is a Soico Group and Ministry of Industry and Commerce initiative, through the Institute for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (IPEME), and exists to encourage excellence and recognize good business practices throughout Mozambique.
The 6th Edition of the Prize also includes partners BCI, Índico Seguros, RSM, Tatos Bud, Order of Accountants and Auditors of Mozambique (OCAM), Mozal, Intertek, Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA) and Institute of Technologies for Innovation and Services ).
The 100 Best SME Awards exists to encourage excellence and recognize good business practices, publicly recognizing the best among the best national companies every year. Once again, the organizers wanted to be comprehensive and inclusive and continued searching the provinces, the districts and localities for the best in the country.
In addition to Maputo, Mozambique’s Top 100 SME awards were presented at local events in Sofala, Nampula, Tete and Cabo Delgado provinces, spreading the word about the project. Government personalities, members of local business councils and entrepreneurs joined the initiative, and provincial presentations highlighted the power of cooperation for the success of companies and organisations.
