‘Women Here and Now’ at the Brazil-Mozambique Cultural Centre in Maputo
Wona Live Sessions 3.0 with Urban Village, Cantinho das Cores and Tégui
Wona Live Sessions is a platform of dissemination, comprising the most varied genres and ages, combining music and visual arts and connecting national and foreign artists.
The first two events, in February and May of this year, were attended by the international Estère and Nonku Phiri, accompanied by Mozambicans Nandele, Mark Exodus, TRKZ & Rita Couto and Iron Br11.
It is an Afro-Futurist event, necessary in the cultural panorama of Maputo. This time the performers are: O Cantinho das Cores, Tégui and Urban Village.
O Cantinho das Cores (Mozambique)
The Cantinho das Cores, where they often meet for rehearsals, ended up designating this project. Colorful, symbolism of the celebration of life and creation.
Tégui (Mozambique)
Silke Guilamba, better known as Tégui, is a young and promising Mozambican artist of RnB and soul. Tégui is the result of the combination of the initials of her first name and surname: Teresa and Guilamba.
Urban Village (South Africa)
Urban Village music entertains, motivates and instigates cultural and traditional awareness; combines day-to-day experience with ancestral learning, leading us to a space where our identity manifests our being and our stories.
