Trajectories of Afro-Brazilian History and Culture
In Brazil there is a law, inserted in the Guidelines and Bases of Education, Law 10.639 / 03, which determines the compulsory study of African and Afro-Brazilian History and Culture in public and private schools.
But why does the Brazilian State, faced with a society with a majority of the population racially identified among blacks need a law to deal with these issues? And why does it have to be mandatory?
In this presentation will be exposed some shared memories of the historical trajectories that culminated in the writing of said law, seeking to strengthen the cultural development of the connections of ancestralities between Brazilians and Africans, especially when it is perceived the importance, in Brazilian education, to strengthen the links with the African continent, rescuing and resignifying links.
