In celebration of the 50th anniversary of April 25, 1974, and World Portuguese Language Day (May 5), the TP50 group and Camões - Centro Cultural Português in Maputo present, in partnership with Associação Cultural Scala, a music and poetry soiree entitled "Cantar Abril", [Singing April] at 6:00 p.m. on May 8 at the Cine Teatro Scala in Maputo.
"Cantar Abril" is a soiree of music and poetry, in some cases with projected photography illustration. The themes were selected from the most relevant works of Portuguese-speaking countries, especially from the era before April 25th, 1974.
A text giving the themes continuity will highlight the importance of the Portuguese language and the 25th of April for the relationship between Portuguese-speaking countries in general, and Mozambique and Portugal in particular.
This soiree will feature the special participation of Maria João Granja.
TP50 is a group of amateur and professional artists from different artistic genres who have since 2007 been developing themed shows integrating various arts, artists of multiple generations, and young students.
The events focus on the dissemination of human values and artistic quality through tributes to ideas and socially exemplary people, and the establishment, through art, of cultural bridges with other countries.
Tickets cost 600.00 meticais.
