''NA MÃO DE DEUS", by Paulina Chiziane, addresses the topic of existential issues within the paranormal.
The author breaks the silence and gives protagonism to Alice, who sees her life transformed after visiting Mount Mpalumwe, in Zambezia, a place called Hand of God, for having the shape of a hand and for providing the deep meditation of the "I" of the individual, in conformity with the Nature that surrounds him.
Alice, after her return, hears voices that challenge her to give up living, but she faces the voices with the intervention of other higher beings who are beyond the visible and palpable world, it is the spirits of her native origin who see her intervene in a battle of voices. The text deals with several topics considered taboo, and the question is about the discrimination of being, in a process of mutation by the family.
On stage, the actresses' bodies give life to the text, interpreting it in an aesthetics without borders, speaking, dancing, singing expressing feelings with the plasticity that the script favors, and the same results from a process of retextualization that seeks to leave not only the role but also to bring relevant aspects in the treatment of what is paranormal, of the Mediumistic Universe of what is visible in conformity with the spiritual and invisible. The union of the family as an indispensable element in the search for healing is also portrayed in this dramaturgy.
We bring to the scene the piano and the timbila in dialogue, who in their compositions accompany the plot, integrating themselves not only to fill the moments of emptiness, but also to interact in constant permanence and contact with the interpreters on stage, sometimes giving the atmosphere but also rewriting the text through the songs taken from the excerpts of it.
