Fernando Mora Ramos, Artistic Director of the Rainha Theater stages The Night of Hyenas exercise-show (from The Night of Visitors of Peter Weiss and Babalaze of José Craveirinha's Hyenas) - 18/19 October at the UEM University Cultural Center - Eduardo Mondlane University of Maputo (Mozambique).
As part of a collaboration agreement between Eduardo Mondlane University School of Communication and Arts and Teatro da Rainha, director Fernando Mora Ramos leaves for Maputo. The project, after the recent realization of a Writing Workshop - directed by Professor Joseph Danan, from Sobonne Nouvelle, Paris III and by Luís Varela, director and Professor, is to perform a show exercise based on texts by José Craveirinha , Camões Prize and Peter Weiss, playwright, author of The Singing of the Lusitano Puppet, play about Salazarism, now so fashionable.
The texts are Babalaze das hyenas, real stories of the carnage that happened in the civil war - and now living in Cabo Delgado, in the north - put into poetic anger by Craveirinha and The Night of the Visitors, a piece translated by Mário Barradas, in popular rhymes, about the expolation of people.
The cast includes the teachers and students of the ECA Theater Course: Josefina Massango, Maria Clotilde Orlando Guirrugo, Castigo dos Santos, Fernando Julieta Macamo, Horácio Guiamba e Samuel Jaime Nhamatate.
The staging will be with the collaboration of the director Venâncio Calisto, the set design and costumes with the help of Sara Machado da Graça.
