About the event
Recently the Government of Mozambique has revised the Electricity Law and is expected to transpose it into legislation in early 2019. The draft law consolidates the principles of the organisation and operation of the electric power system and the general rules applicable to the exercise of production, transmission, distribution and sale activities, including exports and imports, with a view to providing more citizens with access to electricity.
A representative of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy said that the new law would repeal the current legislation, which recognizes the companies Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) and Hidroeléctrica de Cabora Bassa as the holders of exclusive rights to these activities. This will make room for private investment in the import and export of electricity, electricity consumption and energy services.
During this exclusive information session, you will receive much-needed clarifications about Mozambique's new Electricity Law, which will allow your company to understand and comply with the Law and benefit from new opportunities in the energy sector.
We will review the new Electricity Law in full and break down the most important sections and articles.
