Mozambique: ENI Open Day
Right to the City Festival kicks off with fiery debate and vibrant performances in Maputo!
The 2025 Right to the City Festival has begun!
It all kicked off with a fiery debate on Thursday 20 November at the Ntsindya Municipal Cultural Centre
The Ntsindya Municipal Cultural Centre hall welcomed over 200 people, who were energized by the Performative Debate that combined music, poetry, dance, and strong audience interaction.

The day featured a diverse programme, including film screenings, theatre, exhibitions, and other activities celebrating artistic expression and promoting new ways of living and claiming public space.

These celebrations are also part of the 10th anniversary of the Habitat Project, reinforcing the ongoing commitment to the Right to the City, community participation, and inclusive urban transformation.
Festivals like this play a crucial role in strengthening culture and citizenship.

They bring communities closer together, value local identities, encourage public participation, and foster reflection on urban themes such as mobility, inclusion, memory, and access to the city.

Moreover, they energise cultural centres, give visibility to artists, and enhance the sense of belonging in neighbourhoods, making art a powerful tool for social transformation.
