Mozambique: ENI Open Day
Poros da Concha, by Sangare Okapi
The launching session will be provided with a conversation with the author, moderated by the writer Lucílio Manjate, and poems will be read by Leo Cote.
The poetry of Sangare Okapi has deserved the attention of several scholars, namely Carmen Lucia Tindó Secco a teacher and essayist who states that: "In the books of Sangare, there are a mixture of astonishment, anguish and love. Okapi's writing is an endless journey through erotic and intertextual literature, that is, memory and language, since the lyrical-ebb travels through the Mozambican literary system, retrieving various poets. The poetry of Sangare Okapi pays homage to great poets such as Craveirinha and Patraquim".
Sangare Okapi published Inventário de Angústias or Apoteose do Nada (2005); Mesmos Barcos or Poemas de Revisitação do Corpo (2007; 2017); Era uma vez (Once upon a time) (2009); Mafonematográfico Também Círculo Abstracto (2011); Co-organized the Unpublished Anthology - Other Voices of Mozambique (2014). The author was distinguished with the Revelation Prize FUNDAC Rui de Noronha (2002); AEMO / ICA (2005) Poetry Revealing Award and Honorable Mention at the José Craveirinha Prize (2008).
