About the event
The photographic fieldwork took place in Monapo and Ilha de Moçambique districts in Nampula province and involved all local partners. The photographs were taken with the support of SDSMAS in communities, beneficiary households and health centers in October 2018. The photographic collection recorded beneficiaries served by the program, community health activists, community journalists, health and nutrition professionals.
With support from the European Union and DFID, the World Food Program / WFP has, since 2010, been supporting the Ministry of Health in implementing the Nutrition Rehabilitation Program (NRP), focusing on the treatment of acute malnutrition, including HIV and TB, in children under 5 years of age and pregnant and lactating women. At provincial level, WFP works in close coordination with the Provincial Directorates of Health (DPS); and at district level with the District Health, Women and Social Action Services (SDSMAS). In 2017, in order to strengthen the PRN, WFP instituted the demand generation component to promote demand for nutritional rehabilitation services in Zambezia, Nampula and Cabo Delgado provinces, which actively involved district health authorities in their Implementation.
