About Grégory Escande
Born in Sevilla, Spain and lived in Madrid, Vigo (Galicia) and then in Provence (South France). He attended Secondary Education in the city of Apt, in the hearth of Luberon (Lavender fields and cicadas). Then studied Arts in Aix-en-Provence and later Marseilles. Escande obtained a Bachelor’s in Visual Arts, another one in French Literature and Linguistics, and finally a Master in Education, after an Internship in the University of Alicante and Madrid (Spain).
Escande has worked in Spain, Japan (Tokyo), Zimbabwe (Harare) and now in Maputo, Mozambique.
He is married and has two daughters aged 10 and 12.
Since University, he has been into photography. Escande started with film cameras, all Manual, and spent endless time developing and revealing his films in the darkroom. Now uses a Digital Camera and Photoshop or Lightroom!
He has participated in 4 collective exhibition: in the Fondation Blachère (Apt), in Aix-en-Provence, one in Spazio Italia, and in AISM. Ntamo Wa Uthomi is his first individual exhibition in 16Neto. Escande will showcase my work from 2018, which is mainly street photographs, all taken in the city of Maputo.
