Mozambique: ENI Open Day
Night Lodgers by Licínio de Azevedo
Night lodgers is a documentary directed by Licínio Azevedo about squatters living in the former Grande Hotel Beira in Mozambique.
In the colonial era, the Grande Hotel in Beira was the largest hotel in Mozambique: 350 rooms, luxurious suites, Olympic swimming pool ... The building is currently in ruins, without electricity and without piped water, and is inhabited by 3,500 people. Some have lived there for twenty years. The rooms, the corridors, the kitchens, even the chests of drawers and the bathrooms serve as home. But there is no shadow of sadness or shame in this luminous documentary.
After the documentary there will be a debate with Licínio.
Duration: 57 minutes
