Mozambique: ENI Open Day
Music with Banda CV
Banda CV is a group of young people who use music to address the pressing issues of Mozambican society. It was founded in 2009 at the Polytechnic University in the city of Maputo. When the band was created the objective was to make presentations only in events connected to the Polytechnic University.
Over time, and because the band delighted those who heard it, they began to act outside the boundaries of the institution that saw them born. It was within this scope that invitations to the band appeared in the cities of Xai-Xai, Tete and Inhambane and elsewhere in Mozambique.
In 2013 and 2014 the band was invited to participate in the Tropical Festival Zouk, the largest in Mozambique at the present time. In 2015 they won the contest Elite Voice, a competition for emerging groups, organized by Elite Productions and Gungu TV. In 2016 they had the privilege to participate in the 1st Festival of Cultures of UNILAB in Fortaleza in Brazil in representation of Mozambique.
