Municipalization and urban management in Mozambique
On 7 and 8 November 2008, AFRAMO-CHS, the Franco-Mozambican Association of Human and Social Sciences and its partners in the event, will hold its Second International Colloquium on the theme Urbanisation and Urban Management in Mozambique at the Centro Cultural Franco- Mozambican.
Two decades after the first municipal elections there is a need to reflect on the evolution and challenges of decentralisation in Mozambique.
The event aims to bring to reflection and exchange national and foreign experiences around such matters as "a look at the elections of 10 October"; "Local authorities in administrative and economic organisation"; "The provision of public services, practical approach"; "The parties and the municipal elections in other contexts: comparative perspectives" and "Gender, citizenship and political participation".
The debate around these matters will be enriched by the presence of national and foreign speakers and moderators, teachers, researchers, municipal managers, gender specialists, among others, with high knowledge and experience in the areas that are the subject of the conference.
