Mozambique: ENI Open Day
Mozambique prepares for 10th Gas & Energy Summit amid expanding infrastructure and energy ambitions
Global and African energy sector stakeholders are set to converge in Mozambique at the Joaquim Chissano International Convention Centre from 22–24 September 2025 for the 10th Mozambique Gas & Energy Summit & Exhibition. The Summit, organised by dmg events in partnership with ENH (Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos), aims to solidify the nation’s position as a regional energy hub, attract international capital, and showcase new initiatives in infrastructure and workforce development.
Gas, LNG and energy transition in focus
More than 3,500 attendees —including senior executives, financiers, and policymakers—will participate in discussions on gas, LNG, and Mozambique’s energy transition. Key sessions will address offtake agreements, project tenders, multilateral partnerships, and the role of technology in advancing decarbonisation and socioeconomic growth. The organisers anticipate over 1,000 high-level delegates and 275 exhibiting companies, with attendance spanning 35+ countries.
Decade-long transformation and new partnerships
For a decade, the Summit has catalysed megaprojects and fostered public-private cooperation, driving jobs, skills, and knowledge transfer in Mozambique’s energy sector. The 2025 edition marks a new partnership between dmg events and Field Ready, integrating the proprietary youth employability platform into the Summit’s opening day. The Generation Ready Programme, now in its fourth year, will connect pre- and post-education candidates with employers, industry leaders, and policymakers in a bid to cultivate the next generation of energy talent.
Infrastructure investment and regional integration
Coinciding with the Summit is the inaugural Africa Ports, Logistics & Infrastructure Summit, launched in partnership with the Mozambique Ministry of Transport and Logistics. Set for 23 September 2025, this event aims to attract over 300 delegates from 25 countries to address the region’s industrialisation, connectivity, and gateway potential. Mozambique’s infrastructure pipeline includes the USD 6.5 billion Ponta Techobanine Port and the USD 785 million Maputo-Katembe Bridge, as well as strategic corridor developments linking Dar es Salaam, Nacala, Durban, Walvis Bay, and the Lobito Corridor.
Strategic outlook
Mozambique’s expanding energy, ports, and logistics sectors are positioning the country as a critical gateway for pan-African and global supply chains. The Summit will spotlight Mozambique’s role as a major player in meeting future continental energy demand and fostering regional economic integration. Government and industry leaders, notably from ENH, MIREME, INP and others, are expected to leverage the Summit for new partnerships, technology transfers, and investment frameworks.
Looking ahead
As the only dedicated platform in Mozambique for the global and pan-African intersection of gas, energy, ports, logistics, and youth workforce development, the 10th Mozambique Gas & Energy Summit & Exhibition is expected to be a catalyst for Mozambique’s continued transformation and rising prominence in global energy and infrastructure markets.
With over 5 Ministers confirmed to participate, the Summit is sponsored by Aiteo, ExxonMobil, XRG, Eni Rovuma, Sasol, TotalEnergies, Mozambique LNG, Saipem, Standard Bank and Technip Energies, among others with S&P Global Commodities being the officially appointed Knowledge Partner.
The Summit runs 22–24 September 2025 in Maputo, Mozambique. Registration and further event details are available on the official Summit website.
