About the movie:
Based on a short story by Maria José Artur, "Impunidades Criminosas" is a feature film about violence and liberation.
Sara is in jail preparing a letter for her daughter, in which, through her memories, she takes us to the day she killed her husband with a stick and hid the body in the bin. Sara's life starts to collide with realities that she did not know: Chiquinho Paixão, the gang leader to whom her husband belonged, seeks her to investigate Armando's disappearance. The boss is strong, leader, what her husband was not causes her to be torn between a mixture of fear, admiration and even desire.
But the ghost of her husband visits her and invades her life to blame and humiliate her. Also, the madwoman from the neighbourhood, appears to her several times insisting that Sara has to be released spiritually of the ghosts that torment her.
The only way to defend herself is to put on an iron mask in her everyday life and for all those who threaten her freedom.
