About the event
On June 14, at 6:00 p.m., the works will be presented at the Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo, the distinguished works of the 2nd edition of the National Printing Press - Casa da Moeda (INCM) / Eugénio Lisbon: Saga d'Ouro of Aurelio Furdela (winning work), and Stained Dreams, Live Dreams, by Agnaldo Bata (tribute).
Academic Abudo Machude will present the work Saga d'Ouro, by Aurélio Furdela, and Duarte Azinheira, director of the INCM's edition and culture unit, will present the work Dreaded Dreams, Live Dreams, by Agnaldo Bata.
The jury composed by the Mozambican writer Ungulani Ba Ka Khosa, as President, by the researcher and specialist in literature, Teresa Manjate, and the editor-in-chief of the INCM, Paula Mendes, decided to award the prize to Aurelio Furdela for accurate writing at linguistic level and also by the manifest mastery over the techniques of narrative. In turn, the attribution of honorable mention to Stained Dreams, Live Dreams is justified by the creativity, at thematic level, of the work presented to the contest by Agnaldo Bata.
The award was established in 2017 by the National Press House (INCM), with the support of the Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo, and is intended to reward unpublished prose works by Mozambican authors. The INCM / Eugénio Lisboa Prize includes the edition of the winning work by the National Press, as well as the allocation of the monetary value of Five thousand euros to the winner.
