Mozambique: ENI Open Day
Launch of the book “The Spare Woman, by Dany Wambire
Writing is a refuge and shelter for Mozambican writer Danito Gimo da Graça Avelino or simply Dany Wambire born in 1989 in Manica. In his writings he reflects on Mozambican society, its traditions in contrast to modernity.
"Wambire's literature, we may say, is committed to the society of its time. And it has as a striking feature to expose the Mozambican reality of its surroundings in the fiction that engenders, however paradoxical it may seem. The stories of Wambire, therefore, are not just singular. These are stories that remind us of a world that seems implausible. But that is not it. Hence the importance of the literature it produces. With the knot in the throat, we, your readers, realize demeaning realities. " Aparecida Maria Nunes, Journalist, researcher, writer and professor of Brazilian and African Literatures at the Federal University of Alfenas, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
