Mozambique: ENI Open Day
Launch of the book “Africa, The Four Rivers”
After being presented in March this year in Portugal, the book will provide the public of the Mozambican capital with an insight into the latest research carried out by António Pinto Ribeiro on the representation of Africa through European and American travel literature. The book will be presented by Alexandra Pinho, director of Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo, in a session that counts with the presence of the author.
António Pinto Ribeiro was born in Lisbon, lived in several countries in Africa, a continent that he visits regularly in the scope of his activities. He completed his academic studies in Philosophy, Communication Sciences and Culture Studies. He is an associate researcher at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, part of the project "MEMOIRS - Sons of Empires and European Post-Memories" (funded by the European Research Council). Along with his work as a researcher and teacher, he has developed international programming and curatorial activities, among which the curatorship of the "Réplica e Rebeldia" exhibition - Artists from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde and Mozambique, presented at the National Museum of Art of Mozambique in 2006.
