About Kaliza
Paulo Miguel Torres Caliano, born on March 30, 1978 in the city of Tete, son of Ronga father (Maputo) and Ntsega mother (Zumbo) in a family of musicians. At a young age he saw his brothers and cousins playing. His first public appearance was in 1995, at KUDEKA, where he sang for over 1000 people, and everyone left there unanimously that a new revelation had been born in the Caliano family, which was already well known in the music world.
Since then he has not stopped singing. He recorded some songs and formed a band where he played with his brothers: Esmael, Alfredo, Zeno and Bruno. In 1997 he decided to come to Maputo looking for opportunities to learn and make music. He was invited to be part of one of the most famous young bands of the 90s: Mozpipa (2001-2005), followed by his solo career in 2006. In 2009-2010 he won Best Song (Ngoma) and best music video (MMA).
