Mozambique: ENI Open Day
“Hands, Voices, Ropes: Poetry”
"Hands, Voices, Ropes: Poetry" will provide the audience with 12 poems of names such as Florbela Espanca, Alda Lara and Noémia de Sousa, read, staged and sung by the actress and dancer Gigliola Zacara and by the sign language interpreters Sandra Guite and Sofriana Lobo. This initiative is part of the exhibition "The Island of the Poets", curated by Nelson Saúte, at the Camões Portuguese Cultural Center Gallery in Maputo until March 30.
In the words of Sandra Tamele, responsible for this celebration, "Poetry reaffirms our humanity by revealing to us that people all over the world share questions and feelings. On World Poetry Day, let's celebrate and share song poems with voices, hands and strings that will bring us emotions and abstractions, with 'Ilha dos Poetas' as the backdrop. "
