Gandhi: Mahatma Gandhi, byname of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, (born October 2, 1869, Porbandar, India—died January 30, 1948, Delhi), Indian lawyer, politician, social activist, and writer who became the leader of the nationalist movement against the British rule of India. As such, he came to be considered the father of his country. Gandhi is internationally esteemed for his doctrine of nonviolent protest (satyagraha) to achieve political and social progress.
Gandhi: Mahatma Gandhi, apelido de Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, (nascido em 2 de outubro de 1869, Porbandar, Índia - falecido em 30 de janeiro de 1948, Delhi), advogado indiano, político, ativista social e escritor que se tornou o líder do movimento nacionalista contra o domínio britânico da Índia. Como tal, ele passou a ser considerado o pai de seu país. Gandhi é conhecido internacionalmente por sua doutrina de protesto não violento (satyagraha) para alcançar o progresso político e social.
Khadi: Khadi fabric, also known as khaddar, is a hand woven natural fibre made with cotton. The other variations of Khadi fabric include silk and wool. Khadi fabric originated during the time of Mahatma Gandhi when he led the Swadeshi Movement. This fabric has a rugged texture and feels comfortable when worn during winter season while also keeping one fresh in summers.
Khadi: O tecido Khadi, também conhecido como khaddar, é uma fibra natural tecida à mão feita de algodão. As outras variações do tecido Khadi incluem seda e lã. O tecido Khadi teve origem na época de Mahatma Gandhi, quando ele liderou o Movimento Swadeshi.
