About the Mabunda brothers
Santos and Rodrigo have exhibited their work, above all in collective exhibitions in a national level, while emerging as artistic creators. Gonçalo Mabunda, one of the artists with internationally recognized merits and appreciation, has long been affirmed in the competitive circuit of contemporary art.
His works are exhibited in several galleries in Paris, London and New York, from Macau to Dubai, in Lisbon and Óbidos; in Africa has been presented in places like Marrakech, Dakar, Johannesburg and Maputo. He currently has his work represented in important private and public collections around the world. Gonçalo uses sculpture and metal welding, having as a distinctive element the use of discontinued war material.
Santos has made the evolution from a monochrome design to works that, although they use color, maintain the same sobriety of their initial works, assuming the collages in their most recent creations and that for the first time can be appreciated by the public.
