Mozambique: Maputo hosts Africa50 General Shareholders Meeting
Djambo documentary by Chico Carneiro and Catarina Simão
The film accompanies Carlos Djambo, a Mozambican former guerrilla photographer, on a trip to revisit the places where he documented the liberation struggle and the process of reconstruction of Mozambique after Independence. His photographs and the encounters with people who shared his fighting experience are the guiding thread of a journey that reveals the country in contrast to the one that was idealised. On the road, due to unexpected encounters, is the drama in the life of Djambo that ends up being revealed - so fatally entangled that it is in the historical course of Mozambique.
