About Deltino Guerreiro
Deltino Jaime Albino Guerreiro or simply Deltino Guerreiro is a Mozambican musician born August 26th 1990 in Montepuez, Cabo Delgado.
In 2002 began the first adventures in the world of music with musicians Tacio B and Silkey. Deltino began singing in Hip-Hop and R&B, joining the group P.Record (1st group of Hip Hop in Nampula) and B Star.
It was only in 2010, at the age of 20, that Deltino enrolled in the music course at the House of Culture in Nampula and, through the influence of a guitar teacher, he attended the guitar course. A year later he left for Maputo to attend the economics course and try his luck as a musician in the Mozambican capital.
In 2011, he signed up for a talent contest on the STV channel, winning first place.
Deltino Guerreiro's sound is a mixture of influences, fruit of his experiences from north to south of the country. From soul and r & b to the musical tradition of northern Mozambique, allied to conscious lyrics sung in Portuguese, English and Macua, Deltino makes the difference in the Mozambican music scene, dominated mainly by rhythms of southern Mozambique. Their melodies reflect the strong Arab musical influence of the North of Mozambique, being sometimes compared to the rhythms of countries like Mali, Gambia or Burkina Faso.
