Mozambique: ENI Open Day
Dance week: Shifting (L. Sala) and Sentido único – I. Chichava
SHIFTING | LULU SALA
My voice is my body, and vice versa. My voice is my breath, it's the sculpture, it's the beat of my heart, it's the breathing of machines, it's the lyrics of my music, it's the beat created at dawn. This same voice has soul, has feelings and needs to be heard. Often, it changes direction depending on the situation. Sometimes it changes naturally, sometimes forcibly. But she has soul and has feelings. It can be broken, silenced, trampled underfoot and threatened in various ways, but it has soul and feelings. Let me assert my voice, be it made of body, iron, steel, beats, pencils or love.

SENTIDO ÚNICO | ÍDIO CHICHAVA
This performance seeks to interrogate marginality and how the social context exposes issues related to exploitation, violence, harassment, betrayal, submission, limit or explosion. In choreographic terms, this piece results from a chain of common movements, all seemingly very simple, executed with sensuality in a flow of movement. Space begins to form as this flow sets in time, creating a unique sense. During the show, pictures showing the evolution of two bodies, between historical information and current questions, are revealed. There is talk of racial identity, religion, sexual exploitation, domestic violence, permeated with humor, acidity and poetry.
