The VêSó Photographic Project, or simply VêSó, has as its main objective the registration of any and all references that make up the cultural matrix of Mozambique, by sharing them with the community through exhibitions and social networks. VêSó also proposes to encourage the improvement of the art of photography as a vehicle for expression and social intervention.
VêSó began in Angola, when Verga Lopes, attentive to the program of requalification, foreseen for a great number of districts of the Angolan capital, decided to create the photographic collection of the neighborhood where he grew up. So, on October 4, 2014, with a group of friends, with a camera explored the bairro Coreano and took some pictures.
This group included the Mozambican Neide Tsenane, who on returning to her native land began taking pictures in March 2017. From there, a number of reference districts were registered in Maputo City and Province, namely: Baixa da Cidade de Maputo, Chamanculo, Boane, Bairro dos Pescadores and Manhiça.
The VêSó Moçambique Project proposes to hold a collective photographic exhibition, showing patents from the various neighborhoods registered in Maputo.
Each photographic output is unique and has a varied number of amateurs and professionals, or simply lovers of photography. Thus, this would be an opportunity not only to show what is lived in the various neighborhoods in Maputo, but also to show the various talents that this project hosts.
VêSó is a group of friends, in love with Mozambique and the warmth of its people. They are crazy, crazy about photography.
