It was listed as one of eight films that could be the German submission for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards, but it was not selected. Maria Schrader (born 27 September 1965) is a German actress, screenwriter, and director. She directed the award winning 2007 film Love Life that was based on a novel by Zeruya Shalev.
