About the documentary
"Music, Mozambique!" By José Fonseca and Costa (Moçambique, 1981, 93 ') Partnership: Festival Raíz - 4th edition
The documentary depicts the 1st National Festival of Song and Traditional Music, held in 1980 in Maputo City. This is one of the most important cultural initiatives carried out by the Mozambican government in the first years after independence. Through the presentation of the enormous diversity of music, singing and dance in the country, the aim was to stimulate the production of a desired national unity, making known to the population the richness of its cultural mosaic.
