About the movie:
‘The pregnancy is ours’ follows a group of men in a rural Mozambican community living very different stages of life, from being with their first girlfriend, just having had their first child, to having been married for many years. However, they all have one thing in common: they want to change the traditional way contraception, pregnancy, childcare and house chores are viewed by fellow men in their community. By living an exemplary life of dedicated husband and involved father they defy gender norms and cultural stereotypes, sometimes having to face tough decisions and difficulties in order to stay true to their conviction of equality and respect.
