Chico António at Taverna
Chico António was born on May 13, 1958, in Magude district, Maputo province. He was a member of Radio Moçambique’s light music ‘Grupo Instrumental n°1’ and of ‘Orquetra Marrabenta Star de Moçambique’.
António has toured England, Holland, Italy, France, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Zimbabwe, Guinea Conakry and Cape Verde.
In 1990, he won the Radio France International ‘Prix Découvertes RFI’ and received a scholarship to study piano, orchestration and studio recording.
