About the book
“The magic tree” is a tale structured in a hybrid language between Portuguese and one of Mozambique's Bantu Languages - Changana - and is aimed at children and young people.
It's the story of a baobab who traded sleep for imagination. For many moons it stood with open petals watching the boys play behind the butterflies, among the branches of flowering words. Until, by magic, they disappeared into their heart. The imagination of the tree also brought rain to the earth, and left amazed animals and people who told their deeds by word of mouth, from village to village. But after so many moons with open petals, the baobab withered with weariness. How to bring back the sleep of the tree, everyone wondered?
The book will be on sale for 800 MZN
