More about event:
As part of the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the Mabuko Ya Hina Project, the book “The girl who lived in the Cloud” will be launched at the Biblioteca do Camões - Centro Cultural Português in Maputo.
“The girl who lived in the Cloud” is the second book in the “Mabuko Ya Hina Collection”, a project to boost reading that currently has 11 School Libraries and 32 Reading Briefcases, in the Districts of Maputo, Matola, Chibuto and Inharrime. One of the activities of this Project is the realization of Reading and Creative Writing Workshops, promoted by a Portuguese teacher at the Portuguese School of Mozambique - Center for Teaching and Portuguese Language, in collaboration with the teachers of the schools involved.
“The Girl who lived in the Cloud” is the result of work carried out with the Maguiguana Primary School. It is a book composed of four stories conceived in groups based on four elements: a girl, a cloud, a flower and a seagull. At the end of the book, the reader is challenged to write his story as well. The presentation of the book will be in charge of the students involved in the creation of the stories and of the dynamiser of the Workshop, Estela Pinheiro.
“The Day when the Words Disappeared” was the first publication of the “Mabuko Ya Hina Collection”, resulting from a Workshop that took place at the Portuguese School of Mozambique - Center for Teaching and Portuguese Language in the academic year 2016, also with several schools in the project.
The book will be on sale at Camões - Centro Cultural Português during the launching ceremony.
