About the event
This is an exhibition organized to complement the seminar 2019's central theme approach, supported by research and documentation work developed in close collaboration with INICC - National Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries (formerly INAC) and FAPF - Faculty of Architecture and Physical Planning of UEM, and only possible with the numerous partnerships that the Friends Association of the Museum of Cinema has been developing since 2016.
Under the theme “Old Maputo movie theaters”, the work involved the inventorying of construction licensing processes, their digitization, visits to buildings with video-graphic record, the drawing and reconstitution of plans, elevations and views using three-dimensional drawing software. , make-up and sketches in sight, research and photography of periodicals and, finally, two dozen interviews with former INICC workers working in the capital's movie theaters and some production areas.
The exhibition proposes to the visitors to rethink the patrimonial importance of these architectural and social spaces inviting to a reflection, through its correlation with the WORKSHOP and the SEMINAR, of the diverse and shared responsibilities and perspectives on a very specific architectural set, representative of a technological and socially distinct and from all over the national territory, in danger of disappearing.
