About event:
'Amazônia - The awakening of Florestania' is a documentary that discusses how the Amazon rain forest and nature itself have been treated in Brazil since the beginning of the 20th century, gathering testimonies from several personalities of Brazilian society such as André Trigueiro, Benki Piyãko, Lucélia Santos , Frans Krajcberg, Juca de Oliveira, Miriam Leitão, sociologist Sérgio Abranches, Victor Fasano, Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento, Ailton Krenak, Paulo Adário and many others who, in some way, struggle to preserve this precious Brazilian legacy. Shot in places like Roma, Nova Viçosa, Amazônia and Brasília, the film leads to the emergence of the concept of Florestania - a word that synthesizes the concept of citizenship and forest rights - and is the genetic code of our identity.
