Açucar Castanho Experiment performance live @ 16Neto
Açucar Castanho Experiment is an ambitious Mozambican Music project that delivers TradModern Music, traditional African Rhythms experimenting with Jazz and Rock. The group composed in 2013 by the virtuoso percussionist SamitoTembe propose some originals creations who inspire and charm a large public invited to a musical travel.
Songs in Shixangana, Portuguese and English lyrics complete some melodies focusing universal themes : education, peace, prosperity!
Açucar Castanho Experiment has played at opening up the Azgo Festival in 2016 and venues around Maputo ( Jazz Nic festival 2018, Festival Mafalala 2017) and others cities in Mozambique.
Both on stage and recording, Samito Tembe continue to collaborate with the greatest mozambican artists like Chico Antonio, Banda Kakana.,Ghorwane, Roberto Chitsondzo and others groups.
