Documentary by Rui Simões on the House of Students of the Empire, created by Salazar in 1944 and closed in 1965.
Born in the Estado Novo to control overseas students, the House of Students of the Empire in Lisbon and with delegations in Coimbra and Porto, was fundamental in the struggles for independence of the Portuguese colonies.
The documentary The House recovers memoires of testimonies of the survivors of the House, fictionalising in parallel excerpts from "The Generation of Utopia" by Pepetela.
