4th Annual Powertech Africa Conference
Dates: Thursday, January 30 and Friday, January 31 2020
Address: Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi, Kenya
About the event
4th Annual Power Tech Africa 2020 will be a 2-Day conference-cum-exhibition scheduled to be held at Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya on 30th – 31st of January 2020.
East Africa has been a promising market for renewable energy developments with countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, etc. deriving more than 70% of their energy needs through renewable sources like Solar, Wind, and Hydro and Geothermal energy.
Lake Turkana Wind Power and Olkaria I-V have become the lifeline of Kenya providing electricity to the extent that the supply exceeds demand and yet 80% of rural population is still deprived of connectivity due to lack of transmission and distribution and is relying on off-grid and mini grid resources.
This 2 Day program will be a gathering of both public and private sector participants, IPPs, EPC Contractors, Investors and Fund Managers as well as bankers and solution providers with the sole interest of being a part of Lighting Africa.
In context with the climate change and expanding carbon footprints, we believe that green energy is clean energy.
The discussions include topics on:
• PAYG model in electricity consumption
• Renewable Energy and its contribution towards achieving Vision 2030
• Off-grid Connectivity
• Data Centre Rentals - Using available land resource in a productive manner
• Funding IPP and Contract Negotiation for PPA
