Mozambique ranks 133 out of 138 on Global Competitiveness Index
The European Union is to spend EUR1.2 million on projects that streamline the business environment in Mozambique, in implementation of an agreement on economic partnership with six sub-Saharan African countries.
“This first tranche is aimed at preparing all parties involved to implement the agreement in Mozambique. We are talking about aspects related to the dissemination of information and training,” the European Commission Directorate General for Trade’s Gijs Berends told Lusa on the sidelines of a partnership agreement seminar held in Maputo.
The money, Berends said, would boost Mozambican business, benefiting both private sector companies and the government.
