Olam Mozambique: 20 years of mutual benefits
Olam is a global leader in agribusiness. We have been in Mozambique for 20 years. We evolved from a purely commercial company to invest in the cultivation, commercialisation, processing and distribution of daily food in Mozambique.
In the last 8 years we have been awarded 7 times by the Mozambican government as the best agricultural exporter of traditional products. The most recent award was at Facim 2018 as the best exporter of agricultural products.
Our staff of about 4000 employees has built our leadership position in the various businesses that make up our portfolio, namely cashew nuts, sesame, cotton, rice, food oil and soap.
During our operations:
1. We intervene in the process of production and processing – we add value to the national product
2. We act in the production and distribution of indispensable ingredients (oil and rice) to Mozambican households – we add health and well-being to the diet
Our success is the result of a model that puts sustainability at the heart of the business. Our purpose as a business is to grow in a sustainable way.
