Renamo member and recently dismissed Air Force Commander Luis Dique Massimaculo was yesterday sworn in as Inspector of the FADM (Armed Defence Forces of Mozambique) by the Minister of National Defence, Atanásio Ntumuke.
Dique was dismissed as commander of the Mozambican Air Force by the president last week, but is now occupying a new and substantial position.
N’tumuke said he expected the appointment to generate a new dynamic in the institution he leads, demanding cadres sworn in yesterday to maintain peace and stability in the country.
Two other people were also sworn in on Monday: Flora Chipanda, who headed the Department of Training of Human Resources and has now been appointed deputy national director in the same department (replacing Luisa Manjate), and Manuela Macembusse, who was head of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of National Defence but has now moved to the Department of Documentation and Archives Management.
