Mozambique Stock Exchange (BVM) has new CEO
The Mozambican currency has accumulated new losses in the last week against the US dollar, after falling around three meticais in seven weeks, according to central bank average exchange rates published by Lusa.
The US dollar is is used as the basis for calculating the meticais exchange rates for other currencies in Mozambique.
Last week, the US dollar was bought on average for 61.16 meticais, 61 metical cents more expensive than the previous week.
The sale was made at 62.38 meticais per dollar, 62 metical cents more.
The average purchase price of the US dollar during the past week ranged between 60.94 and 61.35 meticais, while the sale price ranged between 62.15 and 62.58 meticais.
The metical depreciated only a few cents against the Euro.
In average terms, in the last week, the Euro was bought in the country at 75.04 meticais, 37 metical cents more than the previous week.
The sale was made at 76.54 meticais for each Euro, 38 metical cents more.
The daily average purchase price of the Euro ranged between 74.64 and 75.35 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 76.12 and 76.86 meticais.
